Enescu Festival at start

The “George Enescu” International Festival, Romania’s largest international cultural event, started today with an official press conference and a concert presented by the Staatskapelle Berlin (conductor Daniel Barenboim; soloist Radu Lupu).

Over 160 events (concerts, opera and ballet) are due to take place until the end of the Festival, on September 28. Over 3000 foreign artists are expected to come to Bucharest, representing some of the most famous orchestras in the world.

The Festival has a new, modern website, a new application for IOS and Android and some of its most important concerts can be watched also in Grand Cinema Digiplex. Another premiere is the “Creative Bucharest”, a communication concept aiming to make the general public participate to the magic of the Festival. Details can be found here.
