White Book on energy launched

The French Embassy and the French Chamber of Trade and Industry in Romania (CCIFER) launched, on April 13, the White Book of Energy, containing 10 solutions to turn Romania's energetic sector into an engine of economic development. The initiators announced they aimed at developing a partnership with the Romanian authorities, in order to develop and implement the solutions, which were identified by the CCIFER working groups on energy. The ten steps are organised by three principles: improving the energetic efficiency; creating a fair market; European harmonization. They are: 1. Introducing a management contract for energy for buildings; 2. Creating an operational program for energetic efficiency; 3. Developing a national program for cogeneration; 4. Long term visibility for investors through steady commitments from the public authorities; 5. Unification of the public authorities in the field of energy; 6. Developing the renewable energy; 7. Fair and transparent access to gas from domestic production; 8. Updating the standards for energetic performance for new buildings according to European norms; 9. Drafting and implementing the secondary legislation for renewable energy; 10. Translating into domestic legislation the third European package on energy.
