Winners of the CCIFER competition „Future Researchers and Sustainable Energy”

Three young women-researchers will develop innovative research projects in France and Romania, in the field of sustainable energy, with the support of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Romania (CCIFER), the French Embassy in Bucarest and the National Authority for Scientific Research (ANCS).  Teodora Arjoca, Simona Troncea and Maria Cristina Muresan are winners of the competition „Future Researchers and Sustainable Energy"  launched by CCIFER, within the project started in 2011 for the reform of Romania's energetic system, „White Book of Energy - a Chance for Romania" . The scholarship programme aims to support Romanian young talents develop research and innovation in sustainable energy.

 

The results of the competition were announced in a press conference, on June 13, at the French Embassy, with the participation of HE Philippe Gustin, Ambassador of France in Romania,  Yvonnick David - Vicepresident of CCIFER and coordinator of the Group for Energy Issues of CCIFER; Dana Gheorghe, General Director of the ANCS.

 

A group of French companies (Veolia, Lafarge, KPMG, GDF SUEZ Energy Romania and BRD-Groupe Société Générale), together with the French Embassy and the ANCS will contribute with an equal amount of money (38.000 EUR) to the three-year scholarships of the Romanian researchers. They will have access to laboratories in French and Romanian Universities in order to develop their projects, focusing on: conceiving self-sufficient, intelligent houses that produce more energy than they consume (Maria Muresan, 24); the optimization of a special synchronous machine to be used as a generator for eolian turbines (Teodora Arjoca, 26); removing NOx polluters produced by the automobile and the energetic industry.
