Daruieste Viata (Give Life Association)Proving That People Given a Choice Make a Choice
The Give Live Association is a non-profit organization whose mission is to challenge the status quo and advance the Romanian hematology-oncology healthcare system so that it will give cancer patients the best chances to survive and live longer. The organization develops large-scale projects for the benefit of cancer patients and for diagnose and treatment of the illness, such as renovation, modernization, and construction of hospitals and laboratories, advocacy, healthcare lobby, counseling.
The most complex project launched by Give Life - The First National Children's Hospital for Cancer, Serious Illness and Trauma - is also the largest social involvement project at the moment in Romania. Over 350,000 people and 4,000+ companies, so far alone, have supported the project and its vision of this medical academic center, which offers a multidisciplinary 21stcentury-approach of how best to treat children with different diagnoses resulting in the best clinical outcomes.
While businesses can pay to promote their brand, news, or projects through placed content and ad campaigns, most NGOs don't have that luxury. With an NGO everything is about building relationships, having a smart communication and fundraising strategy in place, and consistently sharing its work so that people are aware of the difference their money makes and want to keep supporting this work.
With this in mind, Give Life Association established in 2016 a long-term partnership with OMA Vision, which provides strategic communication, public affairs and PR consulting services, special projects consultancy and management, crisis communication, consultancy in fundraising and attracting new sponsors & partners, to assist the organization in its goals.
OMA Vision helped forge strategic communication and fundraising campaigns that increased significantly the public awareness about the necessity and impact of the Association's healthcare projects. Also, OMA’s input helped the Give Life Association’s projects steer through communication crises, its fundraising campaigns succeed even during a global pandemic, and expanded the involvement of communities and companies in these projects, creating a persuasive profile for the organization, at both domestic and international level.
